Black’s Link exploration for Porcupines and Wild Boar 20 August 2022

20 August 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

EARLY EVENING EXPLORATION ON BLACK’S LINK

Saturday 20th August 6:00pm.

Meeting  Place : No. 15 Bus stop at Wanchai Gap on Wanchai Gap Road.

No charge. Members and their guests are welcome.

Note: The event will be cancelled if there is a current typhoon or heavy rain signal.

A message from our former Chairman, Dr Ted Doleman:

“I have contacted SeƱorita Priscilla Quill and she has replied that she will be pleased to meet us together with her neighbour, Percy (a wild boar) after sunset on 20th August”.

Anyone a bit baffled?… Please see below.

Ted has kindly offered to take a group to see the porcupine family that lives on Black’s Link. They are usually to be seen foraging around sunset if you approach quietly. There is also a  likelihood of seeing a couple of wild  boars, which are harmless unless teased.

Please just turn up on the night if you are interested – no need to send a message – though you could contact Ted on 2234 5044 if you have any queries. Sunset is at around 6:45 pm. The visit may take around 2 hours. Bring a small torch (not a blinding  headlight please – it scares away the porcupines).

The number 15 bus route commences at the Bus Terminus adjacent to Pier 5 of the Central Piers, via Exchange Square, Admiralty, Queen’s Road East, Stubbs Road and several other stops before reaching Wanchai Gap (from where it continues on up to the Peak). It runs approximately each  20 minutes. We shall finish at Wong Nai Chung Gap and can catch a bus back from there.
